We live on this amazingly beautiful planet, but too often, people focus on the negative. My Vision is to link the world with joy and beauty by creating works of art inspired by your “Joys”.

The “Joys” are the things that are beautiful or wonderful in your life, or whatever inspires you. I am asking people to share their words, stories, quotes, or memories, and help me co-create little works of Art that help spread more Joy in the world.

So where do the beads come into it all?

Beads are little bubbles of beauty that have been used in cultures across time, for adornment, in spiritual practices, as money, and as expressions of creativity. I use beads embedded within the pieces to represent your “Joys”. If you are a bead artist, I’d love to promote you on this site, and within my creations, so send me something you would like me to be inspired by, and I’ll post a link to your website, and mention your contrabution on the back of the creation. I’ll also be featuring bead artists from time to time, so keep in touch!

Your words (Joys) and the beads will be used within my art creations in a myriad of ways. Sometimes I may use the actual words in an art piece, sometimes your words may inspire a theme. For example, if several people talk about the sea being a source of inspiration or joy, then I might do a series based on the sea; or if family stories are a theme I might focus on representations of families. The beads could be glued, sewn, dangled, made into mosaics, sculpted, layered …… the possibilities are endless! The pieces of art will evolve with the project, depending on the inspiration I get from your contributions.

Photos will be added to the gallery as pieces are completed, and via the blog I’ll share a little of my journey.

The project will expand and grow as more people take part. If you would like to join this adventure, please post a comment about the Joy in your life, or email/snail mail your stories to me.  Even if you don’t want to join at this stage, maybe you could copy off the email (on the Share page) and forward it to anyone you think may be interested (but please don’t spam it!). The more countries it spreads to, the more the Joy Spreads!

Heart Art

Heart Art are little pieces of art that are travelling the world inspiring Joy!

I choose someone randomly as the first recipient and release these little treasures to remind us all to celebrate the JOY in life. Recipients are requested to enjoy it for a month, and then randomly send it on. During the month every time it catches the eye, make it a point to think of all the joyful, wonderful things in your life, no matter how small.

On the back of each piece is a name/number. Please visit globalbeadproject.com and share your joyful moments and tell us where your piece of Heart Art is in the world. I’m hoping to keep track of them all and am really excited to hear your stories!
